Joseph Campisi Comments on Landmark $5.1 million Travel Insurance Settlement

Joseph Campisi, head of Campisi LLP and adjunct professor of law at York University's Osgoode Hall, was cited recently in the Toronto Star regarding a pandemic related trip cancellation class action settlement, which he believes is likely just the first of many against travel insurance companies.

TD Insurance, who was named in the class action suit, is motivated by to settle because they're trying to protect the broader financial relationships they have with their clients, said Joseph.  Making a settlement removes the risk and helps the company avoid extensive legal fees that can mount due to the long timeframe it often takes to adjudicate these matters.
