CTV Interviews Campisi's Peter Murray re: Class Action Potential

In the CTV News article, "Dry Shampoo Recall Could Lead to Class Action Lawsuits", Campisi's Peter Murray weighs in on this possibility in response to a recent hair product recall by several popular drugstore brands. The story was written after Health Canada issued a recall in October 2022 for over 1.5 million dry shampoo products over concerns about them containing traces of the cancer-causing chemical benzene.

In his interview with writer Melissa Lopez-Martinez,  personal injury lawyer Peter Murray explains that a class-action lawsuit could be possible for the group that spent money "on a now-useless product and potentially feels anxious about using products from a brand they had once trusted." For this group, he advises individuals to keep proof like "store receipts, photos of physical injury, or a doctor's note", and to consider getting legal advice prior to accepting compensation offered from the companies involved, especially if skin damage has ensued.

Peter also remarks that it's "when there is a disconnect between doing the right thing and the profit motive of some manufacturers that you really...get into the need for class action." Read the full article here to learn more.
