Personal Injury Lawyer

Sylvia Guirguis

Bachelor of Arts, McMaster University (Honours B.A., summa cum laude, 2011)

Juris Doctor, Osgoode Hall Law School (2014)

Sylvia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honours specialization in political science and communication studies. While at Osgoode Hall Law School, she was a student caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services where she developed practical advocacy skills. Through fighting on behalf of vulnerable clients and engaging in community outreach, Sylvia gained an appreciation of the barriers that may prevent access to justice. She also volunteered for Justice for Children and Youth while at law school, conducting research on child protection laws across Canada with the aim of reducing youth homelessness.

Following graduation, Sylvia completed her articles at a Toronto law firm specializing in insurance defence. With a history of supporting the injured party, however, she naturally gravitated towards plaintiff personal injury law, taking with her the lessons she gathered during her articles. Sylvia understands the importance of empathy and timeliness when working with clients. She has appeared before the Landlord and Tenant Board and the Superior Court of Justice.

When she’s not working, Sylvia is an avid reader and enjoys trying new restaurants.
